Venture capital investments in Europe declined between the second and third quarter. This development is in line with the global trend and is due to various market uncertainties. These include the ongoing geopolitical conflicts, the upcoming elections in the USA and the lack of exit activities in various regions.
However, the latest interest rate cuts by the Bank of Canada and the European Central Bank in the second quarter and by the Bank of England and the US Federal Reserve in the third quarter could bring a turnaround. They are fuelling cautious optimism that the VC market could pick up in 2025.
