The current Consumer Barometer investigates how important the issue of sustainability is to consumers and what everyday habits they would be prepared to change in the interests of sustainable consumption. For this purpose, 500 consumers in Switzerland, the UK, Italy and Germany were surveyed on a representative basis.
86 percent of respondents said that the issues of sustainability and sustainable consumption are important or very important to them. Those who attribute some relevance to sustainability in the survey cite the creation of a better climate balance for future generations and the protection of personal health as the main reasons.
In the survey, you can find out what challenges respondents see when it comes to sustainable consumption and how much they agree with certain behavioral changes - such as consuming less meat, giving up foods that are not currently in season, or paying more for regional products. The survey also asked which aspects of sustainability consumers would like more information about. The study reveals interesting differences between consumers in the four countries surveyed.
